A day after staging a massive protest near the Pakistan high commission in Delhi against the country’s foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s “highly shameful and derogatory” remark about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers will stage a nationwide protest on Saturday.
“Protests will be organised in all state capitals throughout the nation, and BJP karyakartas will burn the effigy of Pakistan and the Pakistani Foreign Minister, and will vehemently denounce the disgusting comments of the Pakistani Foreign Minister,” the BJP said in a statement on Friday.

1. The BJP will protest Pakistani Foreign Minister Asif Zardari’s insulting statements during a news conference at the United Nations in New York.
2. The BJP called Zardari’s statements “extremely insulting and full of cowardice,” and claimed they were made to shift global attention away from Pakistan’s deteriorating economy, lawlessness, and instability.
3. On Friday, BJP workers protested the Pakistan minister’s comments outside the Pakistan High Commission in the national capital. According to the BJP, while India’s foreign policy is praised across the world, Pakistan is receiving criticism from even tiny countries.
4. In the meantime, India condemned Zardari for his “uncivilised outburst” towards Modi. Arindam Bagchi, a spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), stated, “These remarks are unprecedented, even in Pakistan.
The wrath of Pakistan’s foreign minister would be better directed at the masterminds of terrorist operations in his own nation, who have made terrorism a part of their official policy. Pakistan must change its thinking or risk being a pariah state.”
5. On Thursday, EAM S Jaishankar chastised Pakistan for its involvement in funding and promoting terrorism, advising Islamabad to clean up its act and strive to be a decent neighbour.
