According to her recent Instagram pictures, the actress was spotted spending quality time with her lover Arjun Kapoor in the Maldives. She’s now back in the bay and back on track with her exercise programme. Malaika took to Instagram to post a video of herself effortlessly completing three yoga positions for toned legs.
The actress discussed the advantages of the positions she demonstrated, as well as the proper manner to do them. Malaika appeared to be completely absorbed in yoga as she performed Utkatasana, Malasana, and Adho Mukha Svanasana.
Utkatasana (cobra pose)
Malaika, dressed in a black yoga attire, exuded confidence as she performed Utkatasana, better known as the chair posture. She began by holding this stance for a few seconds. “The quadriceps and gluteal muscles are targeted in this pose. According to an excerpt from her essay, “it improves posture and coordination while also toning the whole body.”
Utkatasana is performed in the following simple steps:
• Take a seat in Tadasana.
• Move your hands up by the sides of your head in front of your chest.
• Bend your knees and press your pelvis down, as if you were sitting on a chair.
• Maintain the posture with your hands extended for as long as you feel comfortable.
Malasana
Malaika performed Malasana, or the garland posture, with ease, inspiring her supporters to include yoga into their regular practise.
“Malasana is an excellent pose for developing your thighs and legs,” she writes in her piece. This pose also helps to relieve lower-body tension.”
Malasana instruction manual:
• Keep your feet wide apart while standing in Tadasana.
• Squat into a squat stance by bending your knees.
• Make your thighs broader than your torso.
• While inclining forward, place both arms on the inside of your bowed knees.
• Fold your hands in front of your heart in the Anjali mudra (Namaskar Mudra). Svanasana (Adho Mukha Svanasana)
Malaika finished her video with Adho Mukha Svanasana, or downward facing dog position. “This position delivers a deep stretch to the arms and legs and hence helps tone the hamstrings, calves, arches, and hands,” she adds of her go-to pose for both physical and emotional wellbeing.
Adho Mukha Svanasana is performed in the following simple steps:
Kneel on the floor, keeping your knees hip-width apart.
Place your hands on the floor directly beneath your shoulders and lean forward. Maintain perpendicular thighs and arms to the floor. Align the hands with the knees and the shoulders with the wrists.
Put your hands on the ground. Curl your toes and raise your hips and knees away from the floor while facing down. Hold the position for a time.
Straighten your elbows and knees to experience a powerful stretch in your leg’s back muscles.
Maintain this posture for as long as you feel comfortable.
Malaika is frequently seen outside her gym after her workouts, and she is well-known for her athleisure attire. Malaika prefers a mix of fitness routines such as cardio, pilates, and dance to maintain her hot bod.
The actress advises for drinking plenty of water throughout the day. She is also a firm believer in moderation and portion management. Malaika enjoys home-cooked meals and occasionally shares her nutrient-dense recipes with her followers. It would be an understatement to say that the 48-year-old is ageing like fine wine.
