Amid an uproar over the preview for the movie, Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has come out in favor of Adipurush and its director Om Raut. MNS leader Ameya Khopkar criticized the BJP leaders’ threat to prevent the film from being released and questioned if Ram Kadam had seen Ravana. The portrayal of Saif Ali Khan’s Ravana, who appears in the teaser, is one of the factors that has drawn criticism.
Has Ram Kadam ever seen Ravana or does he carry a picture of Ravana with him? Directors must be given freedom. Giving freedom doesn’t imply disobeying Devi and the Devtas. Ameya Khopkar from MNS reportedly told news agency ANI, I reject this controversy and MNS lends its entire support to this movie (Adipurush).
The MNS leader asserted that Om Raut is a genuine hindutva wadi who cannot offend Hindu sensibilities and that Om Raut planned and carried out a laser display that told the tale of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. You’re halting this movie after only watching the trailer because of your immoral politics. Beyond politics, they must think. It’s pretty simple to declare that we don’t like this movie, yet 400 to 500 people get their food from it. MNS gives equal respect to all religions and says in clear words that no matter what religion it is, whether it is Hindu or Muslim, it does not make any difference. For us, there is no distinction. If you simply watch the teaser, you won’t be able to determine if it’s correct or wrong, therefore see the movie first before making a choice.
The leader of MNS declared that the movie will be published and that MNS would not allow any “gundagardi.”
On October 2, the teaser for the Prabhas-starring movie was released in Ayodhya, where it immediately sparked a political controversy. Even if they make certain changes, the movie would not be permitted to be released, according to Ram Kadam of the BJP. He said that individuals who produce such films ought to be banned from the business. A lot of protests are being done about this movie, there are many scenes in it which are being opposed a lot by the public. Top priest of Ayodhya temple has demanded a ban on this movie.
Ram Kadam of the BJP attacked the Uddhav Sena, the NCP, and the Congress over the matter, alleging that they have denigrated Hindutva and Hindus.
A lawyer in Lucknow has filed a petition with the chief judicial magistrate’s court requesting to file a criminal complaint against the Adipurush performers and producers for “misrepresenting Hindu Gods.”
