Covid-19 is yet not over and we could still see the number of Covid-19 cases in the headlines. The Union Health ministry advised 6 states to follow prevention tips to curb the infection.
PM Modi held a meeting to review the situation of Covid-19 in India and the steps to prevent it. The meeting took place at 4.30 pm on Wednesday.
High-level meeting to study the condition
Looking at the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the country, PM Modi called a meeting. He studied the conditions of influenza with the rising cases of Covid-19 in the country. The PM said that people must follow safety protocols and maintain enough hygiene to stop the spread of diseases.
PM Modi further added that there must be an increase in lab surveillance and genome testing. He also suggested increasing testing of different illnesses related to the respiratory system. All the details of H1N1 and H3N2 infections were presented before the PM for review.
Suggestions of PM
Prime Minister Modi stressed getting the positive samples with Genome sequencing labs. This action will help to track new variants speedily. He also added that people must now wear masks and senior citizens with comorbidities should avoid going to crowded places.
PM Modi further stated that Covid-19 is not over and it is necessary to study the situation in the country regularly.
Hike in Covid-19 and Influenza cases
As per the new study, India reported 1134 new cases of Covid-19 in the last two weeks. Union Health Ministry advised the states to take some serious steps to stop infection of severe diseases.
Covid-19 deaths amount to 5, 30,818 at present.
Union Health Ministry stated that the hike in Covid-19 cases could be due to the spread of coronavirus in the local areas.
